History of Caribbean Music

A project for African and Caribbean Islington residents over the age of 55. We will be going through the History of Caribbean Music from Mento to Calypso/ Soca , Rocksteady, Ska, Reggae, Lovers Rock and the impact they had on the UK.

This will take place at Jean Stokes Community Centre from 7th – 19th October from 1.30pm – 3.30pm.

This is a FREE event and a light lunch will be provided.

Unfortunately One Love Festival was cancelled. Not only that it will not return ever again. We are very sorry to see it go.

Britain’s Got Reggae will be providing a range of entertainment on the Main stage at the Leicester Caribbean Carnival.

The legendary Errol Dunkley, Soca artists SunDivas & Deevine will be there and 2023 The Kids Voice Winners Shanice & Andrea and a total of 20 acts will get performing

This will be taking place on Saturday 5th August 2023 12 – 8pm on Victoria Park, Granville Road, Leicester LE1 7RY
